To our MATE Family and Friends,

The MATE Board wants you to know that enriching the lives of youth is still of great importance to the non-profit. As the pandemic continues to unfold, know that the Board is currently reassessing its youth programming as MYC remains paused. We will be looking at community needs assessments in late summer to plan for the future, and we are committed to seeking a clear, compelling vision of what our youth programming could look like in 2022 to meet the needs of area youth.

In the meantime, we continue to promote GLOW, a youth group associated with the Presbyterian Church USA and the Presbytery on Northern New England. We are also offering children and youth in need, scholarships to University of Maine Daze camps, and to several Christian camps in the region. Contact Thea Kornelius at if you are interested.

At this time, we have no other updates on the future of Camp at the Eastward. All decisions regarding the land and usage of CATE are within the purview of the Presbytery of Northern New England. We will post any new information we receive regarding CATE in MATE MATTERS, our email newsletter.

If you have any great ideas to share about youth programming at MATE, please contact Thea through our email listed above! Thank you for your ongoing support and love of youth up at MATE!
