INTERIM OPERATIONS MANAGER
Scott Sencabaugh
Scott brings a lifetime of hands-on experience, community commitment, and a passion for helping others to his role as Interim Operations Manager at MATE. A native of Central Western Maine, Scott has deep roots in the greater Jay area. His professional journey has been as diverse as it is impressive—ranging from pipefitter and foreman at Bath Iron Works to teacher, IT director, and home remodeling contractor. A lifelong learner, Scott earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine at Farmington while working full-time and has continued graduate coursework in education and technology.
Scott was first introduced to MATE as a recipient of its services, an experience that inspired him to give back and ultimately led to his involvement as a site supervisor. He’s driven by a sincere desire to serve others—whether that’s through a critical home repair or simply lending an empathetic ear. Outside of work, Scott is a musician, historian, ordained minister, and active community member who runs multiple online groups and shares his many collected treasures with others. He and his wife of over 40 years have two children and five grandchildren. Scott brings a humble heart, creative energy, and a hopeful vision for growing MATE’s impact in Central Western Maine.
